Spirit Day

Today was Spirit Day in which you wear purple as "a way for allies to stand up to LGBT bullying." Our son was approached by 5 strangers at different times and told "You need to find Jesus!" Maybe these students need to learn more about Jesus. From what I know about Jesus, I can only imagine that he would be standing with students who feel bullied, who are verbally and physically harassed. Our family feels extremely sad for the kids today who were attempting to shame Jax. With that type of attitude, they will miss out on relationships with amazing people who may happen to be LGBT.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. ~Dr. Seuss

“At some point in our lifetime, gay marriage won't be an issue, and everyone who stood against this civil right will look as outdated as George Wallace standing on the school steps keeping James Hood from entering the University of Alabama because he was black.”
― George Clooney

Love goes very far beyond the physical person of the beloved. It finds its deepest meaning in his spiritual being, his inner self.
